Antonio Conte is preparing his return to a bench. Without a club since his departure from Naples, the Italian coach has given a few indications about the project that could convince him to resume service.
In an interview with The Athletic, the 57-year-old technician explained that he was not simply looking for a new position. He wants to find a club with a great history, strong ambitions and above all a real pressure on the results.
Conte wants to wake up a big club
The former coach of the Juventus, Chelsea, Tottenham and Naples was very clear on the profile sought. "There are many clubs that have, in a way, lost sight of their own history. I would like to go to one of these clubs to dust this story and make it shine again," he explained.
Conte thus targets a team accustomed to trophies, but that no longer struggles for the same goals. He is also looking for an environment where pressure is strong and his arrival would aim to put the club back in the title race.
Manchester United, Milan or Juventus?
Without uttering any name, Conte has necessarily revived speculation about its next destination. Several points have already been raised which take on a new dimension after his statements.
Manchester United corresponds to this portrait, as the English club goes through a complicated period and remains far from its glorious past. It is also apparent from the assumptions raised around Italy. As for the Juventus, it has a history particularly related to Conte, which won three consecutive Serie A titles between 2012 and 2014.
Conte, however, confirmed none of these destinations. He only drew the profile of his next challenge. And his message is clear: he wants to find a great club to bring back to the top.
